The GIR GPA has published in the journal Buildings, the article entitled ’Design of an instant vibration-based warning system and its operation during relocation works of historic facades“.

The article presents the description, operation and demonstration of the usefulness of a monitoring system applied to the detachment and overturning activities of a representative panel of a full-scale façade, tracking vibration levels and inclination rates. After days of operation and visual observation, it was possible to verify that thanks to the system it was possible to correlate the vibration levels with incipient damage, establishing acceptable values for the thresholds that activate the necessary alarms in real time for the proper development of the work.
